For over thirty years we have been providing reliable transit service to residents and visitors in Central Virginia. Our award-winning system helps people connect to jobs, appointments and various leisure activities. We are always looking for ways to expand our service area hours of service and days of operation. Culpeper

Do you have a medical appointment in Charlottesville? Then why not try the Foothills Express!

The Foothills Express is a a Culpeper-Charlottesville shuttle bus service focusing on medical transportation.  Anyone may ride but a reservation is required (1-800-365-2868 at least 24 hours in advance). 

Service Offered: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

Fares: $3.00 one way or $5.00 round trip, and exact change is required.

The new route is a service of the Foothills Area Mobility System (FAMS), a regional partnership working to improve and expand transportation options in Culpeper, Orange, Madison, Fauquier and Rappahannock counties.

Office Closings


In addition to the six holidays above, the Administrative offices will be closed the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve day. If an official holiday falls on Saturday, the Friday before will be considered a holiday; if the official holiday falls on Sunday, the following Monday will be a holiday.
